The entire spectrum of Comics

Welcome in the Comics Centre.

Comic-Zentrum

2009 will again bring a programme of varied events, interesting artists and exciting activities. This will cater for demanding trade visitors just as much as for the fans who flock to the Centre on Saturday and Sunday.

And of course we'll still be meeting up in the Comics Centre – based as usual in Hall 3.0 J 807.

At the weekend, other activities are presented in the Congress Center (CMF). During the final held here for the "German Cosplay Championship", you can take a break and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

German Cosplay Championship

The holding of the “German Cosplay Championship” is an absolute highlight on the Sunday at the Book Fair. The imaginatively and artistically clad cosplayers have long since become a firm – colourful – feature at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

German Cartoon Prize

Intended for newcomers and unknown talents, the German Cartoon Prize has often proved to be a springboard for a professional career. Once again in 2009, a hopeful future awaits the winners of the competition held by the Frankfurt Book Fair and Hamburg publishers Carlsen Verlag. Deadline for entries was 31 July 2009!

Readers' choice Sondermann award

For Germany's most important readers' choice award for comics and cartoons, prizes go to the favourites chosen in five categories by readers and fans.

CartoonistsAcrossAmerica&TheWorld

For more than twenty years, the American artists' organisation CartoonistsAcrossAmerica&TheWorld has got together with children and young people to create giant wall-hanging pictures. This year, they do it in the Comics Centre.

Programme 2009

Interviews, signing sessions, talks and workshops: trade visitors, the press and fans will again enjoy a wide-ranging programme of events.

Artists & signing sessions

Every year, Fascination Comics is a meeting place for international artists who sit at eight tables patiently adding drawings and signatures to the albums of equally patiently waiting fans.
