The "Learning Society" international education conference
In cooperation with Lehrer-Online and Schulen ans Netz e.V., the Frankfurt Book Fair organised the 4th "Learning Society" education conference as part of its key focus "Education for the Future".
The conference took place on 16 and 17 October 2009 in Frankfurt. It was intended for different target groups and set out to promote both international and interdisciplinary dialogue.
It included both German and English-language workshops, panel discussions and presentations.
Target groups:
- teachers
- students
- nursery-school teachers
- educational publishers
- lifelong learners
- trade visitors to the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Events for teachers are officially recognised and accredited as post-entry career training.
Marketplace
On 17 October, publishing companies, institutions and service-providers to the education sector introduced their products on a "Marketplace" in the foyer of the Congress Center, backed by 15-minute summary presentations.
