5 – 10 September 2012 25th Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF)

The MIBF is Russia’s biggest international book fair. It is held in the modern Pavilion 75 at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow. In 2011, it was attended by 1,572 companies from 57 countries, which presented more than 200,000 titles on an exhibition area of 36,000 sqm. 2012 will see at least as many participants as last year. France is Guest of Honour and Armenia the central exponent of this year’s Fair. Along with numerous publishers, booksellers and cultural institutions, they will provide an extremely rich and interesting programme, not just for trade visitors but also the broader general public. The 2nd International Book Forum (7 – 8 September) will take place as part of the 2012 Book Fair. It is being organised by the ITE Group. The main objective of the Book Forum is to provide a discussion platform for book industry professionals from around the world.

The BIZ Moscow at the Book Fair 2012

The German Book Information Centre in Moscow will be present at the Book Fair with an information stand, where it will present the following Frankfurt Book Fair book collections:

  • “Operating Instructions for Germany – Travelling in Germany”
  • “New Children’s Books”

These provide insights into what’s happening in German-speaking culture and literature today. Information on these books and contact details for the German publishers will be supplied to all those who are interested.

Help for trade visitors and exhibitors

As we did last year, the Book Information Centre will be happy to help anyone who would like to take part in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2012, whether as a trade visitor or an exhibitor. We will present a number of the latest options for participation, as well as programmes and projects of the Frankfurt Book Fair; and we’ll distribute plenty of information materials in Russian, English and German.
