The Book Information Centre (BIZ) Moscow
has been operating since 1993 as the representative office of the Frankfurt Book Fair in Moscow, in cooperation with the Goethe Institut Russia. It is the central contact and information point for the German and Russian book industries and it provides many services for professionals in that field.
The MIBF is Russia’s biggest international book fair. It is held in the modern Pavilion 75 at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow. In 2011, it was attended by 1,572 companies from 57 countries, which presented more than 200,000 titles on an exhibition area of 36,000 sqm. 2012 will see at least as many participants as last year. France is Guest of Honour and Armenia the central exponent of this year’s Fair. Along with numerous publishers, booksellers and cultural institutions, they will provide an extremely rich and interesting programme, not just for trade visitors but also the broader general public. The 2nd International Book Forum (7 – 8 September) will take place as part of the 2012 Book Fair. It is being organised by the ITE Group. The main objective of the Book Forum is to provide a discussion platform for book industry professionals from around the world.
