Frankfurt, 29 May 2017 – After its successful premiere last year, THE ARTS+ is back for another round – even bigger this time – during the Frankfurter Buchmesse, from 11 to 15 October 2017. THE ARTS+ is an interactive business festival around the future of the art, culture and creative industries. On more than 3,000 square metres, exhibitors present new ways to design, utilise and showcase creative content as well as innovations that push open the boundaries of the traditional reception of culture. THE ARTS+ will feature, amongst other things, digital forms of publishing artistic content, designer 3D-printed pieces, virtual worlds for cultural heritage and independently creative robots.
A new economic ecosystem is emerging
Seeking a pioneering spirit: Since 2016, THE ARTS+ has brought together innovative players from the technology sector and representatives of the culture and creative industries. It is these individuals who, together, with the help of digital technologies and new business models, are shaping the future. Architects, fashion designers, photographers, curators and publishers – all create and curate unique content that can be exploited even more effectively through the use of new media. “Digital technologies are currently changing the culture and creative industries completely. At THE ARTS+, we show the possibilities inherent in these developments and bring pioneers and players together. At the same time, parallel to the Frankfurter Buchmesse, one of Europe’s biggest cultural events, we discuss the challenges that ‘Culture 4.0’ presents for politics and society”, explains Holger Volland, founder of THE ARTS+. “As the first event of its kind in Europe, we are driving the digital transformation of the sector forward and presenting an exciting showroom for the art and creative industries of the future.”
That’s why this year the particular focus of THE ARTS+ will be on the development of new business models and the monetisation of cultural content and innovations. Last year, Google, Taschen Verlag and the Van Gogh Museum, amongst others, took advantage of the opportunity to present their innovative projects at THE ARTS+.
A concomitant five-day festival programme with business workshops, networking and matchmaking events guarantees participants a chance to make contacts and engage in conversations across industry borders.
Call for papers
Until 9 June, entrepreneurs, start-ups and pioneers in the culture and creative industries can apply to participate in the festival programme by submitting their (business) ideas. See here for more information: https://theartsplus.com/_2017/
On 14 and 15 October, when the Frankfurter Buchmesse will also be open to private visitors, all exhibiting companies can present their ideas and solution approaches directly to users and allow them to test them. This gives private visitors of THE ARTS+ a chance to learn all about current trends in the creative and culture industries.
