Tarek is a Dubai-based Lebanese-Canadian entrepreneur with a passion for the written and spoken word. In 2018, he was selected as an Arab Youth Pioneer by the Prime Minister’s Office of the UAE.

For many years our modern busy lifestyle did not allow Tarek to read as much as he would like. In order not to miss out on the plethora of great content, he started listening to audiobooks and podcasts instead and found it a great way to consume informative, educational and entertaining content while on-the-go.
However, the lack of top quality and digital Arabic audio content is what led Tarek to start Booklava in 2016, with the mission of creating an audio platform for the Arab World.
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Tarek worked for 10 years with world leading multinational corporations with several international deployments, leading projects in Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, and Strategy across 30+ international markets. Tarek has a BA from the American University of Beirut and completed an Executive Business Program from Harvard Business School.
