AI in Academic Publishing
Two panel sessions on implementing AI, and attitudes towards it, in academic publishing
How is AI being used by academic publishers? Is this technology a supplement to or a replacement for human decision-making? Questions such as these are of vital interest to everyone in the academic community. Earlier this year, UNSILO carried out a survey on AI in academic publishing, exploring attitudes to the use of AI, and the extent of take-up of AI tools in the academic publishing workflow. Respondents include authors, publishers, librarians, and others involved in academic publishing.
These panel sessions will present and discuss the survey results. Each panel session is complete in itself, so attendees can join either or both. The first is on the challenge of implementing and assessing AI tools; the second is trust, bias and other issues around AI.
