Award LiBeraturpreis 2023 to Adania Shibli

Every year, the Liberaturpreis is awarded to one female author by a jury.

The 2023 LiBeraturpreis awarded by Litprom e.V. goes to the Palestinian author Adania Shibli for her novel \"Eine Nebensache\" (“A Minor Detail”, translated from Arabic by Günther Orth, Berenberg Verlag). The jury's statement: \"In \"Eine Nebensache,\" the Palestinian author Adania Shibli creates a formally and linguistically rigorous work of art that tells of the power of borders and what violent conflicts do to people.”
