Hacking Cultural Data
THE ARTS+ Live Mini-Hackathon in cooperation with Coding da Vinci
Coding da Vinci is the first German open cultural data hackathon. Initiated in Berlin in 2014, the project encourages and supports GLAM institutions (galleries, libraries, archives, museums) to share the digital records of their collections online under open licenses. In regular extended hackathon-style events those datasets (and the curators that manage them) are brought together with the creative tech and open data communities to develop ideas and prototypes for the cultural sector and for the public, showing what can be possible when cultural data is made open.
In this interactive session, Coding Da Vinci will present the workings and purposes of their hackathons and showcase a mini-Hackathon live on stage.
