Out Stealing Horses

Ut og stjæle hester

The beauty of Norway can hurt sometimes. Yet Trond seeks nothing but  solitude when he moves to a small village in the forest. In this rural  idyll he realizes that his neighbor is an old acquaintance from his  youth. Memories of that post-war summer, when Trond was 15 years old, are awakened ... A film that deals with Norway's Nazi past and  explicitly describes how the wavering between collaboration and  resistance also influences private decisions. Today, this kind of  looking back is particularly important and relevant in the light of  current events.
