Norwegian literature for children is brave. The braveness is linked to the choice of controversial themes, to language, visual expression and illustration, form, and genre. Maria Parr and Gro Dahle are two authors central in the brave literature for children. The conversation is moderated by Taran Bjørnstad, leader of Norwegian Writers for Children (NBU).
Maria Parr (1981), has written three prizewinning children’s novels about friendship and strong emotions. Her children's novel Manchmal kommt Glück in Gummistiefeln publishes by Dressler Verlag in 2019 and is translated by Christel Hildebrandt.
Gro Dahle (1962), is a prize winning author, writing for both children and adults. Her children's novel Bösemann is published by Nord-Süd Verlag in 2019 and is translated by Christel Hildebrandt.
