Suma Went Walking': a Pan African Symphonic Story
Musical and cultural diversity contributes to the vitality and quality of life throughout the world. Through the dissemination of our African audiobooks and audio programming, we seek to strengthen people's engagement with their own cultural heritage and to enhance their awareness and appreciation of the cultural heritage of others.
The composition brings the magic and excitement of African musical instruments including the (Atentenben and Odurogyra, Fontomfrom Drum, Shekere, Prempensua & Gome Drum and Seperewa) to children and provides an exciting way to engage them with the performance of African music, stories and rhythm play.
There will be a live performance and demonstration of the atetenben bamboo flute, the main instrument in the story, by Dela Botri, Ghanaian Master Flutist.
