Campus Weekend-Kick-off: Science Slam Breakfast

Repeat winners of the Science Slam will show how exciting and entertaining science can be at the Science Slam Breakfast. Frankfurter Buchmesse invites visitors to enjoy coffee and croissants as they listen to scientists make their research both easy to understand and entertaining. It’s always fun, accessible and creative. They share their love of science while providing insights into their research. In the end, the audience will decide who gave the best presentation.

The programme will feature: Sebastian Lotztkat (herpetologist, author of a book on snakes), Lydia Möcklinghoff (zoologist, author of a book on ant eaters) and Dennis Schulz (physicist, co-author of a book on the natural vs. social sciences).

The LAB

The LAB is an interactive, 500 square metre education laboratory in Hall 4.2 – exclusively on the weekend of 13 and 14 October at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2018. The LAB is for both trade and private visitors.

The LAB encourages participation and showcases modern themes in education driven by our increasingly digital working lives. A wide spectrum is covered from “Coding & Making” to digital media design and the open economy.

15x4 – Share your knowledge!

15x4 is a series of non-commercial events initiated by young scientists and science enthusiasts. Each meeting features four 15-minute presentations from the fields of science and technology, followed by Q&A sessions and discussion. The project aims to help popularise science and facilitate access to knowledge.

70% discount for students.

Students will receive a discount at the ticket counter: 14 euros on the weekend, and 19 euros on weekdays. Saturday will feature a party for students in Hall 4.2. Non-students are also welcome to attend Campus Weekend!
