Translation Centre

At Frankfurter Buchmesse 2022, the new International Center for Translation in Hall 4.0 (G 101 and G 114) was the central place for the topic of translation. Organized jointly by the Association of Translators VdÜ and the Frankfurt Book Fair, it offered its own 160 square meter stage and networking space. Here translators could meet publishers, authors, scouts and agents. Other partners of the center were European literary brokers such as Czech Lit, ENLIT, FILI, the Goethe Institute, Litprom e.V., the Slovenian Book Agency, Die Weltlesebühne e.V. and many more.

From translating children's and youth books, comics and non-fiction, to postcolonial translation and sensitivity reading. In addition to the current guest of honor Spain and the next guest country of the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2023, Slovenia, the former Guests of Honour Finland, Georgia and Norway were also represented with events. Also involved in the program were the Czech Republic, France, Japan, the Philippines, Italy and Greece. The network of young translators around TraLaLit - Magazine for Translated Literature was also present.

The events took place on the stage of the Translation Center: Hall 4.0 G 114.
