Every day of the fair – on-site and live-streamed: Follow exciting discussions that explore the stage’s guiding statement: “How do we want to live our lives? Our stage for the future.”
Once again in 2021, some of the brightest minds in the literary world will be discussing the burning topics on the big ARD Book Fair Stage in the Festhalle. This year's guiding statement – “How do we want to live our lives? Our stage for the future.” – centres on topics that will increasingly concern us in the years to come. It will focus on intensely discussed issues, such as justice, sustainability, diversity, modern living and the working world, as well as education and digitalisation.
It will all be presented in the form of exciting discussions and book presentations. Numerous authors have already signed on: Johanna Adorján, Bülent Ceylan, Elke Heidenreich, Prof. Dietrich Grönemeyer, Daniela Krien, Janina Kugel, Helen MacDonald, Eva Menasse, Emine Sevgi Özdamar, Sven Regener, Edgar Selge, Colm Tóibín, Aminata Touré, along with many others who will be presenting their most recent releases at the fair.

One stage, a wealth of programme highlights
Just as in past years, the big ARD Book Fair Stage is awaiting you with a multi-faceted programme featuring numerous highlights: for example, the hr2 Audio Book Night on Thursday, 21 October starting at 8.00 p.m.; the ARD Buchmesse Night on Friday, 22 October starting at 8.00 p.m.; and the ZEIT Literature Talk, with feuilleton Editor-in-Chief Volker Weidermann on Saturday, 23 October, also starting at 8.00 p.m.
