Make the Most of our Network, Know-how and Funding Possibilities.

We are active worldwide on behalf of culture and business. And we enable you to profit from it.

Many international book fairs have been inspired by Frankfurt and alternately focus on one country as Guest of Honour.  Frankfurter Buchmesse is supported by the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy, thus ensuring professional appearances and representations abroad.

We also address the relevant cultural institutions such as the Goethe Institutes and thus ensure a comprehensive presence.

Experience has shown that Germany always attracts a lot of attention in the media as a guest of honour. This in turn will often mean that the trade fair organisers will be more aggressive with their marketing plan

We support young people in the industry in networking internationally.

The Frankfurt Fellowship Programme.

The Frankfurt Fellowship Programme was launched on 50th anniversary of Frankfurter Buchmesse in 1998. It's focus is on the exchange and free-flowing of information, professional and networking.

The Paris-Frankfurt Fellowship. For young booksellers and publishing staff.

Selected young booksellers and publishing staff complete an in-depth, two-week training programme between France and Germany. New professional, language and intercultural skills are acquired through seminars and study trips in both countries.

The Goldschmidt Programme.

The Georges Arthur Goldschmidt Programme is aimed at young literary translators from Switzerland, France and Germany. Each year, it enables five German speaking and five French speaking translators to meet with publishers from both countries and to work on translation projects under the guidance of experienced translators.

You are welcome to attend our international conferences.
