Paul Maar

Paul Maar is one of Germany's most popular and successful children's and young adult authors. He was born in 1937 in Schweinfurt, studied painting and art history, and worked for several years as an art teacher in a secondary school before becoming a freelance author and illustrator. He has received numerous prizes for his work, including the E.T.A. Hoffmann Prize and the Friedrich Rückert Prize. Several schools in Germany are named after him.
