75th Frankfurter Buchmesse: Activities for the 2023 anniversary year begin on 15 March

A comprehensive chronicle of the book fair is released on 15 March 2023, commencing the activities to celebrate the 75th Frankfurter Buchmesse (18-22 October 2023).

Frankfurt Pavilion at Frankfurter Buchmesse receives Martin Elsaesser Plaque 2023

Under the title "Large Houses, Small Houses - Excellent Architecture in Hessen 2018-2023", ten buildings will be awarded the "Martin Elsaesser Plaque" in 2023. Among them is the Frankfurt Pavilion, the cultural and political stage of Frankfurter Buchmesse on the Agora.

Fellowship and grant programmes to the 75th Frankfurter Buchmesse

Industry professionals from all over the world can now apply for the various funding programmes of the 75th Frankfurter Buchmesse. Target groups include licensing managers and translators. For the second time, a special promotional programme has been set up for publishers from Ukraine and its neighbouring countries. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2023.

Juergen Boos, Director of Frankfurter Buchmesse, receives Order of Isabel la Católica

As part of the state visit of Their Majesties the Spanish Royal Couple, Juergen Boos, Director and Managing Director of Frankfurter Buchemsse, was awarded the "Encomienda de Número de la Orden de Isabel la Católica". The reason behind him receiving this is his commitment to Spanish literature and culture, as well as his promotion of German-Spanish relations.

Juergen Boos has been appointed Knight 1st Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit by His Majesty King Harald V of Norway for his commitment to Norwegian literature and culture and the German-Norwegian relations.

“The number of visitors exceeded our expectations. After two reduced versions in 2020 and 2021, the 74th Frankfurter Buchmesse was finally able to take place in person once again. At the joint invitation of Frankfurter Buchmesse (19.-23. October 2022) and the Federation of European Publishers, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address the book sector on Thursday 20 October at 12.30 p.m. CET via videolink.
