Matthias Frings was born in Aachen in 1953. He is a book author, moderator, and translator. He studied English and German literature along with philosophy, and has published numerous non-fiction works, including “Liebesdinge - Bemerkungen zur Sexualität des Mannes”. He has worked as a radio reporter and moderator. He gained recognition as moderator and producer of the TV show “Liebe Sünde”. The book, “Der letzte Kommunist - Das abenteuerliche Leben des Ronald M. Schernikau” (English: The Last Communist. The Wonderful Life Of Ronald M. Schernikau) was nominated for the Leipziger Buchmesse award. The novels “Ein makelloser Abstieg” and “Manchmal ist das Leben” followed. Matthias Frings lives and works in Berlin and is currently translating Stephen Fry's trilogy on Greek mythology into German.
