Mudlum (Made Luiga) won the 2020 EU Prize for Literature for Estonia with Poola poisid. Born in 1966, she is an award-winning Estonian prose writer and literary reviewer. She studied philosophy at the Estonian Humanitarian Institute. In addition to her second novel Polish boys, she has written two collections of short stories and one novel. In 2017, she won the leading award for Estonian short stories - the Friedebert Tuglas Award - for Ilma alguse, ilma lõputa (Without a Beginning, Without an End).
