Niklas Maak


Niklas Maak, born in 1972, studied History of Arts, Philosophy and Architecture in Hamburg and Paris. He currently lives in Berlin. Since 2001 he has been editor specialized in Arts and Architecture of the culture section of the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He is also guest lecturer of History of Architecture in Frankfurt and Harvard Unviersities. He was received several prizes for his work such as the George-F.-Kennan-Preis, the Henri-Nannen-Preis (2012), the COR-Preis 2014 (2012). Some of his more recent works that appeared in Carl Hanser Verlag are: Wohnkomplex. Warum wir andere Häuser brauchen“ (2014), “Atlas der seltsamen Häuser und ihrer Bewohner“ (2016), “Durch Manhattan“ (2017, mit Leanne Shapton) and “Technophoria. Roman“ (2020).
