Socorro Acioli

Born in Fortaleza, Ceará, Socorro Acioli is PhD in Literary Studies from Universidade Federal Fluminense. In 2006, the writer was the only Brazilian selected for the script workshop entitled “Como contar um conto” (How to tell a story), given by Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez at Escuela de Cine y TV de San Antonio de Los Baños, in Cuba. There she started creating what would become her first novel, “A cabeça do santo” (The head of the saint), published in Brazil in 2014.
