Regulations fairground
Code of Conduct
Frankfurter Buchmesse's Code of Conduct lays down rules for appreciative and respectful cooperation at the Book Fair. We want to offer all participants a good Fair experience - regardless of gender and gender identity, sexual orientation and identity, disabilities, ethnic origin, nationality, age, language, religion or ideology. We do not tolerate any harassment or inappropriate comments towards our visitors, exhibitors, partners or team members.
Photography
Frankfurter Buchmesse's House Rules state that the organiser or third parties may take photographs, film and video recordings throughout the event for the purposes of reporting, advertising and documentation.
Visitors or other persons may not prevent, obstruct or impede such photographs and recordings. By entering the exhibition grounds, consent is given to such photographs and recordings as well as their publication.
Controls
Checks on access authorisations and luggage must be expected at all times throughout the exhibition grounds.
Queues at the entrances are unavoidable at peak times. Allow enough time, use the cloakrooms in front of the entrances and take as little luggage as possible onto the exhibition grounds.
If you are carrying newer books, please ensure that you can provide proof of ownership (detailed delivery note or handover/purchase receipt from the publisher of the books you are carrying).
Smoke-free Book Fair
Smoking is only permitted outdoors.
Animals
Dogs or other animals may not be brought onto the exhibition grounds. Guide dogs for the blind and assistance dogs with appropriate proof are excluded.

Awareness team

Visitors who are harassed or notice that another person is being harassed are encouraged to report this immediately - to the Awareness Team, Book Fair staff or the security staff on site.
“Awareness Team” – Support Point in Cases of Discrimination
So that everyone feels comfortable here, we are here to support you if you are excluded, threatened, insulted or humiliated in the context of the Frankfurt Book Fair due to your assumed belonging to a group. We speak of discrimination if this kind of treatment is due to historically unfavoured attributes (even if they are just assumed and not correct), for instance according to one’s nationality, ethnic origins, religion, “race”, disabilities, sickness, body weight, gender identity, sexual orientation, one’s age, social class/background or language. We offer the opportunity to discuss the problem in a confidential setting with a trained counsellor.
