With a growing economy and a young, well-educated population, the Philippines is poised to become a strong, global book market. The Philippines has long been a big importer of books, particularly from the US and UK. Recently, local publishing initiatives have gained momentum. On the trade side, children's and YA are the strongest segments, with domestic production in these areas increasing.
