For 1 year, on 18 October 2019 Chile experienced a social explosion. The government reacted violently. From that moment, thousands of cameras filmed the events to show the world that human rights are being violated. This is how the Festival was born.

On 18 October 2019 Chile experienced a social explosion, a social awakening, with strong criticism of the economic model that reigns in the country and the heads in power. The government reacted in a violent and oppressive way, installing a state of siege, militarizing the big cities and giving the police free reign. From that moment on, the audiovisual communicators took out their cameras making visible what the official press did not show.

An enormous quantity of short films were produced, which we managed to call and gather for weeks to make the first International Festival of \"Chilean Cinema in Rebellion\". Its first stage took place on January 14, 2020 in the city of Frankfurt, then it moved to different cities in Europe such as Berlin, Tarragona, Perpignan, Darmstadt, communities in Greece, Italy, Sydney and New York requested the exhibition but unfortunately it was put on hold until further notice.

Due to the great offer of material we have organized a second exhibition just one year after the popular revolt in Chile in a face-to-face and digital format.
