Philippine Cuisine To The World

The evolution and endless possibilities of Philippine cuisine.

Claude Tayag traces the history of Philippine cuisine from the indigenous cooking during the pre-colonial era to the introduction of new ingredients and cooking techniques brought about by trade relations with China, India, and its Southeast Asian neighbors, and by conquest by Spain and the United States. 

He will demonstrate how the traditional fiesta rice dish Bringhe is done using heirloom rice grown in Banaue Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The audience will have a free sampling of this savoury rice dish.
