Trade groups include, for example:
- Employees of publishing houses, literary agencies, bookstores, and libraries
- Authors, illustrators, and translators
- Employees of printing presses, software firms and other service companies for the book and media industry
- Teachers and school directors of all types of schools, educators, or other pedagogical personnel
- Content creators
- Members of the creative industries, creative artists, and agents
- Students of all disciplines and trainees in the book and media industry
We reserve the right to request proof of activity (business card, employer's letter, student ID card, etc.).
The following groups are entitled to purchase discounted trade visitor tickets:
Students, booksellers, librarians, trainees and apprentices in the book and media industry, trade visitors with disabilities (from degree of disability 50%)
Proof required when entering the fairgrounds, e.g. student ID card, school ID card, pension letter, business card, disabled person's pass.
People in wheelchairs or holding a disability card marked with ‘B’ or ‘H’ will be admitted as trade visitors without the need for further proof. These individuals and their accompanying person will be granted free entry to the book fair directly at the entrance.
Standard admission requirements (see above) and eligibility for concessions (see above) apply to all other individuals.
The trade visitor ticket/RMV-ticket entitles you to travel with the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) for free for arrival and departure to the fairgrounds. Please print out the ticket pdf or have the ticket ready on your smartphone when using the local transport network. Please note that an identity card is needed in case of a passenger check when using the local public transport.

Warning notice: Fraudulent emails in the name of the Frankfurter Buchmesse/Juergen Boos (example: “Author Package”)
We have once again been made aware of fraudulent emails in which unknown individuals pose as employees of the Frankfurter Buchmesse or as our Director, Juergen Boos. In a recent case, authors were contacted directly and invited to take part in an alleged Frankfurter Buchmesse programme— including a participation fee and a request for payment details.
These messages are not from the Frankfurter Buchmesse. Please do not respond to such emails and do not make any payments.
In the example available to us, the following are offered and/or requested, among other things:
- “Author Packages” or programme slots in exchange for fees (e.g. £150 / €150)
- alleged “discounted participation options” or “special conditions”
- the selection of a payment method (e.g. bank transfer or credit card)
- organisational details (hotel/airport recommendations) to create an impression of legitimacy
- sender email addresses that do not belong to our official domains (e.g. Gmail addresses)
How to recognise attempted fraud
- The sender address is not an official Frankfurter Buchmesse address (e.g. @buchmesse.de)
- Requests for payment or fees for “reservations”, “programme inclusion”, “author rate”, or similar
- Pressure created by tight deadlines (“limited number of placements”, “finalising”)
- Unusual communication channels or unclear responsibilities/points of contact
Our official communication channels (invoices/payment reminders)
To ensure clarity, we would like to state two points:
- We send information about invoices and payment reminders exclusively via our regular communication channels.
- Sender address for invoices: billing@buchmesse.de
- Sender address for payment reminders: accounting@buchmesse.de
- If you are unsure, please contact your point of contact at the Frankfurter Buchmesse directly.
If you have received a suspicious message, please also forward it to your point of contact. This helps us keep track of current cases.
Thank you for your attention and support.
