Islamic studies has two departments: a department in Western universities and a department in Arab and Islamic universities. Their problems are different, and they need careful treatment

Between the seventies and the nineties of the last century, two radical trends prevailed in Islamic studies. In the East, the issue became the application of Sharia law and governance in the name of Islam, while in the West, the first Islamic history was denied. In recent years, Islamic studies have moved away from the two radicals towards new approaches
