Frankfurt, 21 September 2016 – An entire culinary atlas on 1,000 square metres: approximately 80 exhibitors from more than 20 countries will gather this year in the Gourmet Gallery of the Frankfurter Buchmesse (Hall 3.1, K 90 to L 135), where they will present around 1,000 titles. For the first time, exhibitors will also be present from Jamaica, Kurdistan, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Japan and Sweden. As ever, the Show Kitchen and the Gourmet Salon will host a varied programme of cooking shows, tastings, expert talks and readings. In 2016, the Gourmet Gallery is once again being staged in cooperation with Gourmand International, the organiser of the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Award.

Long popular in the USA, today more and more people in Germany use measuring cups in their baking and cooking. On this theme, for the first time, a baking event will take place with Birgit Wenz of Becherkueche.de, in the Show Kitchen on the Sunday of the fair. At 10.00 am, our youngest visitors can learn how easy it can be to use these colourful cups to make something delicious. At 11.30 am, the Frankfurter Buchmesse will then bring Becherkueche.de together with the ZAN society. The aim of this organisation, founded by Nadia Qani, is to promote the rights of Afghan women. Once a month, Qani cooks and eats together with refugees in Offenbach am Main. On 23 October, this culinary interaction will take place in the Gourmet Salon at the Frankfurter Buchmesse.
