Networking programme for international marketing in the publishing industry

Frankfurt, 4 October 2017 – E-books, online shops and social media – new communication channels have a lot of potential. At the same time, digital transformation poses major challenges for the publishing industry. For the first time, the Frankfurter Buchmesse (11-15 October 2017) is organising an international networking event entitled “The Bigger Splash”, which is aimed at marketing experts working in the publishing industry. From 13 to 15 October, the varied programme will be all about new paths in marketing, best practices and networking sessions. The aim is to bring together international experts, to promote exchange between marketing and communications professionals in the publishing industry, and to encourage the creation of an international marketing network.

Katja Böhne, Vice President Marketing & Communications at the Frankfurter Buchmesse, said: “Publishing houses have a vast treasure trove of stories at their disposal and a superb grasp of how to showcase their brand, authors and new titles. There are endless possibilities for building anticipation and calling attention to oneself through clever dramatisations. With ‘The Bigger Splash’, we not only want to bring together international marketing pros, but also to reveal completely new ways to reach readers.”
