With Donna Leon, Wladimir Klitschko (digital), Elvira Sastre and many more

In 2022, BOOKFEST will once again present a programme full of literature, inspiration and compelling encounters. The literature festival will offer more than 60 events featuring authors, poets, translators, illustrators and moderators at more than 20 different locations throughout Frankfurt. Over 20 publishing houses and 9 booksellers and cultural institutions will participate in the programme.

Be it readings by bestselling authors, panel discussions, audiobook soundscapes or publisher soirees – the programme is as diverse as the authors who will put in an appearance. Guest of Honour country Spain will be prominently represented by Elvira Sastre, Najat El Hachmi, Isaac Rosa, José Ovejero and Rosa Ribas. In addition, the winners of the 2022 German Children’s Literature Award will be featured at BOOKFEST on Saturday morning, 22 October. And that’s not all the Children and Young Adult Book Area will offer on Saturday: Paul Maar will be reading from his new work "Das Sams und die große Weihnachtssuche" ("Sams and the Great Christmas Hunt") and Alice Pantermüller ("Mein Lotta-Leben" / "My Lotta Life") and Daniela Kohl ("Florentine Blix" / "Florentine Blix") will be on hand for a joint event. Tatjana Kiel and Dr Wladimir Klitschko (participating digitally from Kyiv) will present their new children’s show "Willenskraft stärken" ("Strengthening Willpower") based on their book "Wil, der Wolkenstürmer" ("Wil, The Cloud Striker").

BOOKFEST fans will also have the opportunity to experience an internationally successful author of crime fiction in person: Donna Leon, who will be in attendance for BOOKFEST extra at 8.00 pm on 20 October in the Congress Center. Speaking with Shelly Kupferberg, the bestselling author will present her autobiographical "Ein Leben in Geschichten" ("A Tale of One’s Own"), providing fascinating insights into her life and writing.
