Nobel Prize winner László Krasznahorkai to speak at the Opening Press Conference of Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025
On 14 October at 11 a.m. on the fairgrounds in Frankfurt
The 2025 Frankfurter Buchmesse (15-19 October 2025) will kick off with a special literary highlight: this year's Nobel Prize winner for literature, László Krasznahorkai, will be speaking at the Opening Press Conference of the international book fair.
The press conference will take place on Tuesday, 14 October 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Frankfurt Studio (Foyer Hall 4.0) on the fairgrounds in Frankfurt. In addition to László Krasznahorkai, Juergen Boos, Director of Frankfurter Buchmesse, Karin Schmidt-Friderichs, Chairwoman of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association, and international publishing guests Vanina Colagiovanni (Gog & Magog, Argentina) and Mehar Anaokar (Serpent’s Tail Classics/Profile Books, UK) will also be among the speakers at the press event.
“The fact that we are able to welcome the Nobel Prize winner for literature to the opening just a few days after the announcement underlines the role of Frankfurter Buchmesse as a global sounding board for literature,” says Torsten Casimir, spokesperson for Frankfurter Buchmesse. “We are delighted that László Krasznahorkai will be lending his voice to our event in Frankfurt.”
