Thanks to an alliance of numerous institutions, Ukraine will once again have a sizeable presence at Frankfurter Buchmesse. From 18 to 22 October 2023, the Ukrainian Book Institute, Goethe-Institut, Mystetskyi Arsenal (Art Arsenal) and the Ukrainian Institute will showcase Ukraine’s publishing and cultural landscape at the book fair in Frankfurt.

“The Future of Stories” will be the conference's theme

“German Stories” is the theme of Germany’s role as Guest of Honour at the Taiwanese book fair from 12-17 February 2019. The German delegation traveling to Taipei includes 13 authors, who will present their work in tandem with Taiwanese authors.

Under the motto “Signals of Hope: New Perspectives for a Stronger Future”, Frankfurter Buchmesse’s new all-digital Frankfurt Conference kicks off today, marking the start to the Special Edition book fair week.

With exhibitors from over 80 countries and acclaimed authors from around the world, the 74th Frankfurter Buchmesse (19–23 October 2022) will once again serve as the international book and publishing industry’s benchmark event.

A new funding project is being set up to support the Ukrainian book trade and foster deeper exchange between the Ukrainian and German cultural sectors.

Publishers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have until 5 May 2023 to apply to Italy’s cultural institutes for grants to translate titles that will be published in conjunction with Italy’s appearance as Guest of Honour at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2024.

The first trade fair for digital cultural content, THE ARTS+, took place for the first time at the Frankfurter Buchmesse, closing today after having achieved great success. The premiere comprised five days of a “fair within a fair” as well as an international conference featuring many prominent personalities.

Frankfurt Book Fair 2016 - a truly European Fair

Are you feeling creative? For the fifth year in a row, Frankfurter Buchmesse (16-20 October 2019) is awarding its Wild Card. Whoever can provide the best, most imaginitive answers to three questions about their exhibition concept will win a grand prize: an 8-sqm stand at the world’s biggest fair for content.

Whether performance art or the sound of flamenco, whether high culture from the Prado or fun culture in the form of tapas – Spain’s “spilling creativity” can be experienced not only at Frankfurter Buchmesse from 19 to 23 October 2022, but this summer as well in the city of Frankfurt and many other places in Germany.
