As of 15 August 2023 until 22 October 2023, you can apply for accreditation as a journalist or blogger for Frankfurter Buchmesse 2023. This year, there will again be press counters for journalists on site at the fair. For organisational reasons, bloggers will only be able to gain accreditation online during the fair.
If you are already registered as a journalist/blogger in MyBookFair please log in to your account and upload a current proof of your journalistic activity for 2023 to your profile.

FAQ - Accreditation
How can I accredit myself as a journalist?
Accreditation can be obtained through our MyBookFair customer portal or at one of our press counters at the fair. We will check and validate your credentials starting in August. Please understand that this process might take a few days.

Are accredited journalists/bloggers allowed to bring along another person (such as a colleague or a child) to the fair?
Accredited journalists/bloggers are NOT allowed to bring along additional people to the fair. Any further people need their own ticket to attend the fair. For children who are not school newspaper editors, a reduced ticket can be purchased on site (only).

What should I take into consideration for the opening day (Tuesday)?
On Tuesday (opening day), you need a ticket for the Opening Press Conference or Opening Ceremony to enter the fair. You can find information about of those events from September on here.
Waiting times, however, are still possible due to security checks and procedures. Please ensure that your plans for the day take this potential delay into consideration.
Do press tickets provide access to all events?
No. For example: The Opening Press Conference, the Opening Ceremony of Frankfurter Buchmesse and certain other events require special accreditation. You can find an overview of those press events here.
Do camera and technical teams have to accredit individually?
Yes, all tickets must be personalised and therefore have to go through the accreditation process on MyBookFair. A letter of assignment from the editorial office is sufficient as proof of "journalistic activity".
Can I leave the fairgrounds and return with my press ticket on the same day?
Yes.

FAQ - Infrastructure
Where can journalists/bloggers park?
Journalists arriving by car can park free of charge at the Rebstock parking area. The fair's Rebstock car park has a direct access route from the Frankfurt West motorway exit (follow the signposted route or type "Messeparkhaus Rebstock" into your Sat Nav/GPS). There is a free transfer shuttle from Wednesday to Sunday that takes you directly to the fairground. The car park's pay station is manned until approx. 8.00 pm. Upon presentation of your press card, you will receive an exit ticket with which you can drive out free of charge.
Attention: On Tuesday (opening day) this possibility is NOT available. The nearest paid parking possibility is in the hotels "Maritim" or "Marriot".

Does the press ticket allow free use of public transport?
No, the press ticket does not allow free use of public transport.
Where is the Press Centre?
The Press Centre will be located in Hall 4.2., Room Dimension. A press ticket is required for entering the Press Centre.
How do I get to the Press Centre?
By public transport:
Tram:
From Frankfurt's central station, take line 16 (direction Ginnheim) or 17 (direction Rebstockbad), and get out at the fourth stop (Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage). Go in at the "City" entrance and follow signs for Hall 4.2., Room Dimension.
U-Bahn (metro):
From Frankfurt's central station, take the U4 (direction Bockenheimer Warte) and get out at the first stop (Festhalle/Messe). Go in at the "City" entrance and follow signs for Hall 4.2., Room Dimension.
Please note: the press ticket does not entitle the holder to use public transport for free.
By car:

Tuesday: 9.30 am - 7.00 pm
Wednesday - Saturday: 9.00 am - 6.30 pm
Sunday: 9.00 am - 5.30 pm
Where can I leave my luggage?
There are small lockers in the Press Centre. Please leave large bags at the cloakroom. The nearest cloakroom is just around the corner in Hall 4.2. Media representatives can use the cloakrooms in every hall for free by showing their press ticket.
What is the earliest time I can get in with the press ticket?
From 8.00 am.
Which entrances are open in 2023?
In 2023, the following entrances will be open. There will also be a "Fast Lane" for the press again.

Is there free wifi on the premises?
All participants at the Frankfurt Book Fair receive free wifi access in the 2.4 GHz frequency range. In the foyers of the halls, free WLAN in the 5 GHz frequency range is also available. You can use this wifi access to check your e-mails or surf the internet. This internet access is not suitable for applications with high data transmission! For this, you would need to use the LAN in the press centre.
Are masks mandatory in the press centre?
No, but we highly recommend wearing a mask in the press centre. It protects you and others.
