One year after the fall of Kabul, two journalists will discuss about the situation in Afghanistan

Since summer 2021, after decades of war and 20 years after the invasion of international troops, Afghanistan is once again in the hands of the Taliban. The two journalists Waslat Hasrat-Nazimi and Wolfgang Bauer, each who has a very individual relationship to this country, provide very up-to-date insights in their books. One is a story about the lives of Afghan women, the other a report of an extraordinary journey. And behind both books are questions about the mistakes of recent years. What went so wrong that history seems to be repeating itself? And how do Western views have to change in order to reach a better understanding?

With financial support from the German Foreign Office.
