In 1933, the Spanish journalist Manuel Chaves Nogales traveled through National Socialist Germany and saw through the mechanisms of this regime at an early stage. His twelve reportages had not previously appeared in German, which is why Kupido-Verlag is now publishing the first German translation. In conversation with translator and publisher Frank Henseleit and dramaturge Martín Valdés-Stauber, among others, Hispanist Marta Muñoz-Aunión (Goethe University) looks at the Spanish writer's confrontation with his violent present. Svetlana Belesova (Münchner Kammerspiele) reads excerpts from the first German translation of "Deutschland im Zeichen des Hakenkreuzes".
