After graduating from Boğaziçi University, Department of Industrial Engineering, Banu Ünal received her MBA from the same university. She started her business career in the field of international trade in 1986 and specialized in this field by working in different sectors and at different positions. In the early 2000s, she built and managed the teams that brought women's entrepreneurship programs as well as multinational training programs for children to Turkey. She moved to publishing sector in 2010 and since March 2010, she has been working as the Vice General Manager of Günışığı Kitaplığı which is the leading publishing house of Turkey in the field of children’s and young adult contemporary literature books.
