Benedict Wells was born in Munich in 1984, moved to Berlin after graduating from high school and decided against studying in order to write. He made a living with various part-time jobs. His fourth novel, 'Vom Ende der Einsamkeit', was on the bestseller list for more than a year and a half, it was awarded the European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) 2016, among others, and has been published in 38 languages so far. After years in Barcelona, Benedict Wells lives in Zurich / "Hard Land"
