Dr Sandra van Lente
Dr Sandra van Lente studied Applied Modern Languages and Business Studies and wrote her PhD about cultural exchange in contemporary British novels on migration, focusing on the tensions between the novels’ content and how they were marketed. She worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Centre for British Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she taught British Literatures and Cultural Studies, and wrote her PhD. After working as a freelancer in the cultural industries, Sandra moved to London to work on the “Rethinking ‘Diversity’ in Publishing” project with Dr Anamik Saha. She is now back in Berlin where she wants to continue the work on (the lack of) diversity in the German literary field with academics, activists and people from the book industry.
