AI and translation 2 – hands-on experience with DeepL, ChatGPT, MTPE & Co.

Are AI- and ANN-based programmes and websites really helpful in a translator’s day-to-day work? Already, translators are reporting that clients are trying to cut their meagre fees even further because, allegedly, the machine is doing half their work. But is that true, or are the supposed hi-tech aids in fact obstacles? In which ways exactly can DeepL, Google Translate or ChatGPT support translators, and where might they stand in their way?

For this event, people with hearing aids or cochlear implants can borrow portable induction loops that connect to the translation system receivers. Translation will be provided into English and German. The induction slings are available at the particular stage without prior registration.
