The Slovenian language and literature were greatly influenced by translations (especially from German). A presentation of the extensive scholarly monograph Zgodovina slovenskega literarnega prevoda I.

To celebrate the publication of the first volume of the extensive two-volume academic monograph on the history of literary translation into Slovenian, speakers will include the editor and internationally renowned professor of translation studies Nike Kocijančič Pokorn, the most important translator from Slovenian into German and researcher of Slovenian literature Erwin Köstler, and the president of the Slovenian Association of Literary Translators, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, and also a translator from German, Tanja Petrič. The event will be simultaneously interpreted into German.
