Thanks to the Frankfurt Invitation Programme, publishers from Africa, Asia, the Arab world, Latin America, and the Caribbean attended the Frankfurter Buchmesse in Germany every year. The aim of the project was to enable publishers from developing book nations to participate in the biggest industry meeting, so that they can form networks and act in the book market worldwide in medium and long term.
The publishers programme, founded in the 1970s, was supported by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, and curated and organised by Frankfurter Buchmesse GmbH.
