Despite the distance between Berlin and Madrid, there is a mutual understanding with many common discussion topics between these two authors and directors of reference in the contemporary theatre landscape, namely Roland Schimmelpfenning and Alfredo Sanzol. The pandemic has imposed new forms of representation, hybrid genres, new broadcasting and reception techniques, etc. Both authors claim and show that neither activity nor creativity has ceased to exist in the performing arts. However theatre is the art that has been impacted to a greater extent by the disappearance of live performances, and both agree on the dream of recovering as soon as possible and open the theatre curtains again.
