The freedom of art and culture are among the foundations of a cosmopolitan and free society. Art and culture are currently under targeted attack in Ukraine. The destruction of Ukraine's cultural heritage is obviously part of a comprehensive attack on Ukraine's cultural identity. The strong resistance of Ukrainian civil society and its cultural actors was apparently not expected. The Russian war of aggression led many cultural actors in Ukraine to redefine their role within a few days. What can I contribute in this situation? How can my skills, competences and networks help to defend against this attack? The work, tasks and contents of many cultural institutions have changed fundamentally within a very short time in the face of rocket fire, invasion and destruction. How this change manifests itself and what this means for partners such as foreign cultural institutions will be discussed by the director of the Mystetskyj Arsenal museum complex Olesya Ostrovska-Liuta, Secretary General of the Goethe-Institut Johannes Ebert, the director of the Ukrainian Institute Volodymyr Sheiko and the author Serhij Zhadan, moderated by the Ukrainian cultural mediator Alona Karavai.
