Reading and talk (in German) with Karin Betz, translator of Jin Yong's epic Kung-Fu novels.

Hong Kong author Jin Yong (1924–2018) is one of the most widely read authors in the world and yet he has been largely unknown in Germany until recently. This finally changed after his main work "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" has been translated into German, and is now being published by the Heyne Verlag. This epic novel whose literary status can be compared to Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", is a fantastic kung fu adventure, and offers a poetical and entertaining panorama of Chinese cultural history, philosophy and art. In an interview, translator Karin Betz reveals more about the special features of this literary gem, and reads a passage from the recently published third volume "Der Pfad der Adlerkrieger" ("The Path of the Eagle Warriors").
