The translation of literary works from the SWANA region contributes significantly to maintaining and deepening intercultural dialogue between Europe and its immediate neighbors. This panel discussion will look at trends in the translation and publication of contemporary Arabic literature in Europe over the past decade through a series of groundbreaking reports coordinated by Literature Across Frontiers (LAF) with support from the Anna Lindh Foundation. Presenters will share some of the key findings of their studies, looking at Germany with its large Arab artistic diaspora, the British literary scene, and this year's Guest of Honour, Spain.
