Kateryna Stetsevych studied literature, linguistics and cultural studies at the University of Czernowitz and the Free University of Berlin. Worked as a freelance curator and lecturer for international intermediary organisations such as the Goethe-Institut and the GIZ as well as cultural institutions in Germany. Coordinator of the programme focus "tranzyt. Literature from Poland, Ukraine and Belarus" of the Leipzig Book Fair (2012-2014). Currently head of the project group Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe at the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb).
