Rubén Mendieta is founder and cultural promoter of the Festival Internacional del Huapango Arribeño y Cultura de la Sierra Gorda de Xichú, Guanajuato, Mexico, in its 39th edition. He is also coordinator of the publication El cielo de los poetas. In 2014 he was a special guest at the Festival Internacional Voix Vives de poesía, in Toledo, Spain. From 1998 to date he has been coordinator of publications -more than 200 titles in edition and co-edition- of Ediciones del Lirio.
