On the last day of Frankfurter Buchmesse, the current Guest of Honour traditionally says “good bye” by presenting the coming year’s Guest of Honour with the GuestScroll. During a festive ceremony held in the Festhalle on the fairgrounds today (24 October), Caroline Fortin, representing Canada as the 2020/2021 Guest of Honour, handed over the GuestScroll to Maria José Gálvez, director general of Books and Reading Promotion in Spain’s Ministry of Culture and Sport.

Frankfurt Calling - the cultural-political programme of FBM24
FBM24 is now presenting its cultural-political programme together with its partners under the title “Frankfurt Calling – Perspectives on Culture and Politics.” It will take place throughout the entire week of the fair in the iconic Frankfurt Pavilion on the Agora, and on other stages.

From 26 to 28 April 2019, the German-Norwegian literary festival “Towards Frankfurt” in Oslo will offer a preview of what’s to come. Over 90 writers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Norway will read from their books and discuss the themes they explore in their works. Never before have this many German-language authors come together in Norway at the same time.

"Honeycomb of Words" – Slovenia, Guest of Honour at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2023
Slovenia is the Guest of Honour of the 75th Frankfurter Buchmesse (18-22 October 2023). On 15th June 2023, Slovenia presented its literary and cultural programme, the concept of the Guest of Honour Pavilion and the list of authors who will be attending the fair at a press conference in Frankfurt. The director of the Slovenian Book Agency JAK, Katja Stergar, the architect Jure Sadar and the curators Matthias Göritz, Miha Kovač and Amalija Maček provided insights into the different themes.
