Here you will find the latest releases of French-language authors in translations. The list covers a period from autumn 2016 to December 2017 and includes novels, stories, essays, comics, etc.

Filipino author Blaise Campo Gacoscos ("Der Junge aus Ilocos", published in 2025 by Albino Verlag, translated into German by Andreas Diesel; original title: ‘Kites in the Night’, 2022, Ateneo de Manila University Press) talks about finding your own voice in queer literature and how to depict and edit intimacy in literature the ‘British way’.

„Finnland. Cool.“ was the slogan of the Guest of Honour 2014. 60 German-language publishers acquired 215 Finnish titles in the programme. The international book exhibition “Books on Finland” displayed translations of titles from and for Finland – a total of 950 books published by 245 publishers in 35 countries.

"17,000 Islands of Imagination" was the slogan of the Guest of Honour 2015. The international book exhibition "Books on Indonesia" featured some 850 translations of titles from and to the Indonesian from 180 publishers and 30 countries. Indonesian publishers were present at the fair with a 340-square-meter collective stand in Hall 4.0 as well as with events related to children’s books, comic books, art/design, education and gourmet living.

In 2022, BOOKFEST will once again present a programme full of literature, inspiration and compelling encounters. The literature festival will offer more than 60 events featuring authors, poets, translators, illustrators and moderators at more than 20 different locations throughout Frankfurt. Over 20 publishing houses and 9 booksellers and cultural institutions will participate in the programme.
