Translating Political Theatre: Using the Example of Dramatists Roman Sikora and Hanoch Levin

The translation of political plays requires a special approach – in addition to linguistic transfer, contexts, sociopolitical discourses and also theatre traditions must be conveyed. This will be discussed by Czech playwright Roman Sikora, translator Barbora Schnelle and translator and publisher Matthias Naumann.

The occasion for this event is the publication of two anthologies of plays by Roman Sikora: Frühstück mit Leviathan and Hanoch Levin: Die im Dunkeln in the book series Drama Panorama published by Neofelis Verlag, from which Henning Bochert will read excerpts.
